Three More Weeks

Jeanne's Travels

I arrived back in Honduras on Saturday, May 9, after spending some time in the U.S. for the birth of our new granddaughter, Georgia Grace White!  She is David and Maggie's first child and we are completely in love with her!    Awake Tongue Fists I also spent several days with my daddy who had hip replacement surgery back in November and hasn't been doing very well.

But now I'm back in Tegucigalpa and there is so much to do!  Today is Monday and exactly 3 weeks from today, we will be heading back to Kentucky.

The Nortons

Today, Howard and Jane Norton arrived on campus.  I had met Howard once before at Harding University but this was my first time meeting Jane.  I just have to say...I.Love.Her!  She is such a positive lady and in just the short time we spent together this afternoon, I already know that the people of Honduras are just going to love her, too!  And Howard, of course...he's also a wonderful person.

Jane's 2nd language is Portuguese but she is certainly not afraid to speak Spanish and is doing a great job already!  I'm very impressed with her positive attitude and desire to be here with her husband to do God's work at Baxter and the Clinic.  I look forward to this next week and a half or so that we have to get to know each other better.  I feel a sense of relief knowing firsthand what a special "first lady" Baxter will have in Jane!  God is truly answering prayers.

I said to someone not long ago that I hoped I would have the same peace in leaving as I had in coming to Honduras.  If you have read my first post on this blog, you know how God showed me in record time that He was on control and that He was the one who had made the decision for us to go to Honduras to work as missionaries.  I had such peace in knowing that He would equip me with everything I needed to do His will.  But I felt leaving maybe wasn't going to be so clear.  Thanks be to God for His guidance in this.  I do feel that this is the time for us to leave and am so thankful that He has raised up this fine couple, Howard and Jane, to continue His work here at Baxter and the Clinic.

Baxter Seminar

The annual Baxter Seminar will be held this week, May 13-16, on the campus of Baxter Institute.   "El Apocalipsis" (The Book of Revelation) will be the theme.  Dr. Steve Austin of Texas Gulf Coast Bible Institute will be the keynote speaker.  (See brochure in Spanish)
